Rajamahendravaram: Former MP Undavalli Arun Kumar found fault with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu's attitude towards Polavaram project work. Speaking to media here today, he asked why the State government was paying double the prices for the contract work despite the CAG finding that the completion of work would not be possible by next year. He demanded why the government paid an additional 22% amount for the contractors in Pattiseema project.

Undavalli said that even the CAG questioned the government's decision to fix the duration of project work to March 31, 2019. "Chandrababu does not have the same focus on Polavaram project as his interest in the progress of his Heritage foods. Why doesn't he order for a quality check on Polavaram project work by a third party?" he asked.

Corruption In Anna Canteens

Undavalli alleged that corruption was rampant in the Anna Canteens and Aadarana scheme, which were meant for serving the needs of the poor and the backward sections. He challenged Andhra Pradesh Planning Commission Vice President Kutumba Rao to face an open debate on Polavaram, Aadarana and Anna Canteens.

"In every decision made by Chandrababu, Kutumba Rao had a say. The Somayajulu Commission had been appointed to undertake a comprehensive investigation into the deaths of 29 people during the Krishna-Godavari Pushkarams. But, the Commission's role was confined to just signing on Chandrababu's report," he added.
