Visakhapatnam: Former minister Anam Ramnarayan Reddy joined the YSR Congress party (YSRCP) today in the presence of party Chief and Leader of Opposition YS Jagan Mohan Reddy here. Along with hundreds of his supporters, Ramnarayan Reddy joined the party, before joining the YSRCP Chief in his Praja Sankalpa Yatra.

Speaking on the occasion, Ramnarayan Reddy said that the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) completely failed in fulfilling its 2014 election promises. Adding that the TDP and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) together cheated the people of the State, he remarked that the two parties were making another attempt to deceive the public after breaking the alliance.

"Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in 2014, promised to accord the Special Category Status (SCS) to Andhra Pradesh, but he did not stick to his promise. I hope that YS Jagan's padayatra would become a huge success," he added.

YSRCP Nellore parliamentary constituency leader and Sarvepalli MLA Kakani Goverdhan Reddy expressed confidence over the party's getting strengthened, with Ramnarayan Reddy's experience.
