Amaravati: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National Secretary, Parliament member, and the party's Andhra Pradesh affairs In-charge V Muralidharan criticized Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu for failing to fulfill the Telugu Desam Party's (TDP) 2014 election promises. Speaking at a press conference here today, the Rajya Sabha member said that rampant corruption was prevalent in Andhra Pradesh. "The TDP completely failed in fulfilling its election promises made in 2014. The public healthcare system in the State is in dire straits," he commented.

Muralidharan said that the death of a woman recovering from her delivery, due to her falling down from a bed in a government hospital in Vijayawada mirrored the TDP's failure in addressing the public issues. "The hospital staff are carrying out treatment to two patients who slept on the same bed. It is the TDP government's failure in supplying enough infrastructure," he added.

Adding that the TDP's No Confidence move against the Centre ended up as a joke, he remarked that the government was trying to divert the focus from public issues.

On Wednesday, senior YSR Congress party leader Botsa Satyanarayana said that the TDP government was turning a blind eye to the spreading of diseases in the State. He added that thousands of people were dying due to the incidence of dengue and malaria in AP.
