Nara Lokesh Condolence Message For Vajpayee Is A Tribute To Chandrababu

Nara Lokesh never ceases to entertain us no matter how solemn the occasion. For the past few days, the condolence tweets put out by the AP IT minister and chief minister Chandrababu Naidu's son on the demise of former prime minister, Atal Bihari Vajpayee have been doing the rounds on social media.

Nara Lokesh's tweet redirects you to a Facebook post described as "heartfelt words". In case you want to know what those "heartfelt words" are, the FB post is a long, rambling eulogy of his father, Chandrababu. After a reference to a verse, it speaks of the Telugu Desam party's role 'with pride', in enabling Vajpayee complete his term as prime minister! It claims that Vajpayee and Chandrababu got closer during the NDA period and that it played a key role in decision-making without being inside the government. Nara Lokesh doesn't stop with that. The TDP, he claims, played a key role in micro irrigation, golden quadrangle network, telecommunications and cell phone network expansion. No other condolence message from any ally seems to have made such claims, which are in poor taste.

Nara Lokesh further says that the former prime minister had immense respect for Chandrababu Naidu. That's not all, he also adds that Vajpayee would grant the current AP chief minister an appointment as soon as it was sought! Any one who reads the post can see how the TDP leadership is smarting under the humiliation of PM Modi not granting Chandrababu an appointment for several months, as claimed by him. Well, dead men tell no tales, as they say, so who can contradict what Nara Lokesh says in his post now?

Chandrababu Naidu "built" Cyberabad during Vajpayee's time, the Lokesh post adds, claiming "he could bring Microsoft to Hyderabad." It credits Chandrababu with having fought for the international airport at Shamshabad, among other things.

It concludes with "We will miss you Sir!" after another brief reference to a line of verse and describing him as one without enemies (ajathashatru).

Nara Lokesh also posted a tweet which said that the Telugu states have lost a dear friend who along with Chandrababu played a key role in shaping their aspirations. He couldn't help himself, it appears.
