Pulivendula: Former YSR Congress Party MP YS Avinash Reddy said that the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu's two-day visit to Kadapa district was a fruitless exercise. Speaking to media from YSRCP President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's camp office, he said every time Chandrababu visited the district he would make false promises. The AP CM made false promises on Kadapa steel plant and Urdu University for the district, he observed.

Avinash Reddy recalled that Chandrababu had visited the district 25 times and never has he initiated any developmental work in Kadapa. Every time the TDP chief promises to make the district a horticultural hub, after leaving the place he conveniently forgets about it.

The YSRCP leader recalled that former Chief Minister late Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy had increased the capacity of head regulator from 11,000 cusecs to 44,000 cusecs of water. Dr YSR also initiated and completed 95 per cent works of Handree-Neeva, Gandikota and Paidipalam projects. He said it had become an habit for Chandrababu to claim that he was supplying water to the district, while the fact remains that Dr YSR built the projects and there have been rains.

He further said that the farmers in the district were suffering without loan waiver and input subsidy. Chandrababu was visiting the district only to solve the in-fighting issues of TDP and not with an intention to do good for the people, he added.
