Amaravati: Leader of the Opposition in Andhra Pradesh legislative Assembly and YSR Congress Party President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy lashed out at Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu for his rude behaviour towards the mid-day meal workers. "Is it right on part of Chandrababu to behave in an ill-mannered way with women?" YS Jagan questioned.

Earlier in the week on Monday, the mid-day meal workers staged a "Chalo Vijayawada" protest demanding payment of pending bills and salaries. The police arrested them.

YS Jagan said that the mid-day meal workers were feeding the children even though the State government had not paid them bills and salaries for some months now. "More than 85,000 mid-day meal workers are working without even getting salaries from the government. Unlike anywhere in the country, the Chandrababu government is itching to hand over the scheme to private agencies. The YSRCP, after coming to power, will ensure that the children will be provided with nutritious food," he said in a tweet.
