Hyderabad: YSR Congress party former MP Vara Prasad lambasted the Central government over not probing the corruption charges against Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu. He questioned the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over not taking up legal action against Chandrababu, amid serious corruption allegations against him. Speaking to media at the party central office in the city, the former Lok Sabha member said that the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) manifesto was a record ridden with lies and false promises. Andhra Pradesh is marred by Chandrababu's lies and corruption and currently stands at No. 1 position in corruption index, he said.

"Why are the BJP leaders not filing cases against Chandrababu for indulging in high-scale corruption in the land acquisition for building Amaravati?

“If not for political benefit, why is Chandrababu spreading lies against YSRCP Chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy even though the courts have cleared all charges against him?" the YSRCP leader demanded to know.

Vara Prasad observed that the people of the state were well aware of the fact that cases have been filed against the Leader of Opposition to take political revenge. "Why did Chandrababu file for a stay in the court, if he was not guilty of corruption? Instead, he should prove his innocence by facing investigation," he remarked. The TDP leaders should not forget that Chandrababu's corruption was mentioned in the national and international surveys, he added.
