Hyderabad: YSR Congress Party leader Bhumana Karunakar Reddy said that the July 24 Andhra Pradesh state bandh call given by their party was to protest the deception by TDP to the people of the state. He called on the state government not to threaten or create hurdles to the people who would participate in the bandh.

Speaking to media here today at the YSRCP headquarters, Bhumana pointed out to that no one spoke about the promises made in AP Reorganisation Act during the no-trust vote debate in the Parliament. Everyone spoke for personal benefits rather than trying to do justice to the state. He questioned as to why Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu went to Delhi after losing the trust vote. "Was it to forge new tie-ups?" he asked.

The YSRCP Leader recalled Chandrababu thanking the Central government for allocating Special Package to AP. He said people were questioning the AP CM 's stance on Special Category Status. He reminded the press that the CMO had published books mentioning that Special Package was much better than SCS. The TDP leaders in Parliament repeated YSRCP Chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's arguments.

Bhumana said that the relationship between TDP-BJP was made clear by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his speech had said that TDP had fallen in YSRCP trap, and this indicated that they had an understanding. He said that the TDP was unable to garner the support of neighbouring state for no-trust vote. He said that the TDP leaders met K Keshav Rao instead of Telangana CM K Chandrashekar Rao or KT Rama Rao to seek support for their no-confidence motion.

He further said that the entire episode of no-trust note was only to gain publicity. Protesting against Chandrababu's attitude, YS Jagan had called for a state bandh on July 24, he said and added that people should support the bandh to make it a success.
