Vijayawada: BJP MLC Somu Veerraju said that a systematic corrupt rule was governing Andhra Pradesh. Speaking to media here today, he said that AP chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu was encouraging corruption. The MLC said corruption to the tune of Rs 30 crores had taken place in urban housing scheme and Matti-Neeru programme. The TDP leaders were looting thousands of crores through illegal sand mining and low level TDP workers have been appointed to loot people in the name of Janmabhoomi committees, he observed.

The BJP MLC said that the budget allocated for education was being siphoned off by minister Narayana. He said Central government allocated Rs 3000 crores to Sarva Siksha Abhiyan while the state budget for education was around Rs 30,000 crores. Out of the budget amount, about Rs 8,000 to Rs 9,000 changes hands. Moreover, the TDP leaders are selling posts in Sarva Siksha Abhiyan, he lamented.

Similarly, the Central government schemes have turned employment guarantee schemes for the rich in the state, Somu Veerraju said. He reminded the press that Central government was bearing the cost for cement roads in villages, LED street lights, housing, 24 hours power supply, Neeru-Chettu, PM Insurance scheme and building of toilets. But the state government was meddling with these funds too, he said. Chandrababu was instigating attack against the BJP leaders as the party's popularity was growing, he alleged.

He further said that the state had borrowed loans worth Rs 1,20,000 crores. As if this wasn't enough the state was preparing for another loan, he said. He also demanded to know what the planning commission vice president Kutumba Rao was doing when the CM was preparing to take more loans. Above all, the TDP workers were threatening the public of removing their names from the welfare schemes if they did not attend public meetings conducted by the CM, he added.
