Anantapur: Former YSR Congress Party MP from Tirupati, Varaprasad called upon the party leaders and workers to gear up to end the misrule of Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu. He pointed out that after Chandrababu came to power, he cancelled pensions of 10 lakh people, 2 lakh ration cards and 2 lakh contract employees. The MP spoke at Vanchana Pai Garjana (Deception Day protest) organised by YSRCP here today to protest against the negligent attitude of State and Central governments with regard to allotting Special Category Status (SCS) to Andhra Pradesh as well as fulfilling the promises made in the AP State Reorganisation Act.

He further said that around 60 government institutions have been shut after TDP chief became the state CM. He also observed that Chandrababu was a coward and had never won elections without alliances. He reminded the gathering that TDP bought three YSRCP MPs and 23 MLAs. The turncoat MPs and MLAs would never be forgiven by the public, he added. He challenged Chandrababu to implement the AP State Reorganisation Act in totality.

Varaprasad said that Chandrababu Naidu seemed to treat the state no differently than his party. There seemed to be no dividing line for him between being a chief minister and TDP chief. For personal gains, Chandrababu preferred Special Package over Special Category Status, he said and added that the TDP chief had no right to continue as the CM. He remarked that Chandrababu destroyed all the sectors and cheated the public with his false promises.

The YSRCP leader said that Chandrababu was staging a series of dramas. First, he promised 15 years SCS for the state and then started harping on Special package and its virtues. Now, he seems to have woken up to SCS.

Modi and Chandrababu Stand Accused

The former YSRCP MP Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu were A1 and A2 respectively in respect of denial of SCS to AP. Speaking at the Deception Day protest programme, he said only with SCS industries would be established in the state. The Central and State governments have miserably failed to implement the promises made in the AP State Reorganisation Act.

The YSRCP leader said that Chandrababu had obstructed YSRCP President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's various protests demanding SCS to AP. He asked why Chandrababu settled for a Special Package instead of SCS. He was disappointed that AP CM made mockery of YSRCP MPs when they sacrificed their posts for the sake of the state.

He clarified that YSRCP would go it alone in the next elections. The party was ready to face elections with confidence at any time. He expressed his confidence that YSRCP will win 150 assembly and 25 parliamentary seats. Chandrababu was trying to buy the voters offering large sums of money, he added.
