Andhra Pradesh turns fortess ahead of CWC meet over Telangana

It's D-Day for people of Telangana as the Cogress is all set to announce the much-awaited decision on the contentious issue.

While Seemandhra has turned restless ahead of the crucial meeting of the Congress Working Committee, pro-Telangana activists are waiting with bated breath to hear Congress declare separate statehood for the Telangana region. They are also hoping that Hyderabad is made capital of the newly formed state.
They have also demanded for a person from their region to be made the head of state. It's interesting to note that of the 26 chief ministers who ruled Andhra Pradesh over the years, only six are from Telangana. Now with Congress hinting at granting their wish, Telangana people hope that they can have one of their own men to take charge of the state.
Ahead of the crucial meeting of the Congress Working Committee to take a final call on Telangana, the stage is set to step up security in Andhra Pradesh. To prevent any untoward incidents, the Centre has rushed paramilitary forces to coastal Andhra, Rayalaseema and Greater Hyderabad. Besides, a large number of police force from the neighbouring states as well as AP have been deployed across the state. The tightened security arrangement is in the wake of agitations in Seemandhra regions over division of state.
