Anam brothers to opt out of polls?

Is it swansong for Anam brothers, who lorded over Nellore politics for so long?

The duo may opt out of the poll fray this time. Anam Vivekananda Reddy, the elder of the two, has already kept away from this elections and has fielded his son Anam Chenchu Subba Reddy from Nellore (City) assembly constituency instead.

Now, we get to understand that Anam Ramnarayana Reddy, the younger one, too is contemplating staying away from the polls. Though Ramnarayana Reddy had filed his papers from Atmakuru, he is reportedly thinking of withdrawing his nomination.

With the tide decisively against Congress in the Seemandhra, Anam brothers have also not campaigned during the recent municipal and pancahyat polls. Several of their camp followers have already deserted them. A large number of them have joined the YSRCP and some have deflected to TDP.

So, a beleaguered younger Anam is reportedly planning to withdraw. If that happens, all the party candidates too might opt out of the poll battle.

Congress seniors are now pressurizing Ramnarayana not to withdraw his nomination papers.
