Narsaraopet: YSRCP chief and leader of the Opposition in AP Assembly, YS Jaganmohan Reddy on Friday welcomed Kasu Mahesh Reddy, son of former chief minister Kasu Brahmananda Reddy, into the party amidst a sea of supporters of YSR Congress Party and the Kasu family in Narsaraopet.
Massive crowds eagerly awaited the arrival of YS Jagan at the Reddy college grounds here. Even after YS Jagan arrived at the venue, it took a while for him to make it through the huge crowd and onto the dias.
Amidst cheering crowds YS Jagan formally welcomed Kasu Mahesh Reddy into the party and promised to support Kasu Mahesh as a brother. He also commended the other MLAs from the area who were with him on the dias.
Addressing the crowd who had assembled there in large numbers YS Jagan not only summarized for then the prevailing misrule of the TDP government but also encouraged them to respond to questions about various poll promises that Chandrababu had made before elections.
“How many poll promises did Chandrababu make and how many of them did he fulfill till now?” YS Jagan questioned. Listing out each one YS Jagan asked the people to indicate with their hands whether the promise was fulfilled. The responsive crowd through a massive show of hands could see that not a single poll promise was fulfilled by Chandrababu government.
Chandrababu has obtained power through false promises and lies...People are fed up with Chandrababu’s misrule, that is filled with corruption and abuse of power,
“Chandrababu has obtained power through false promises and lies”, YS Jagan said. From cheating farmers off their lands, to jobs that youth did not get, the waivers that were denied to the DWACRA and particularly on the issue of Special Category Status- that was not given by Babu’s alliance partners, YS Jagan articulated his arguments for overthrowing Chandrababu government in the next elections.
People are fed up with Chandrababu’s misrule that is filled with corruption and abuse of power, YS Jagan said. Unite with YSRCP and help us to throw this corrupt government into the Bay of Bengal, YS Jagan shouted even as the massive crowd responded to his call with a loud roar.
Addressing the massive crowd earlier on Kasu Mahesh Reddy pointed out to the extensive corruption and abuse of power that had become synonymous with the TDP governance.
The plentiful water that had come to their areas as a consequence of the Nagarjunasagar dam that was built when his grandfather Kasu Brahmananda Reddy was the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, Mahesh said, was running dry since the time TDP came to power.
YSRCP is the only party that will bring social justice to SCs, BCs and minorities, he said. My only goal is to make YS Jagan the chief minister in 2019, he said and thanked Jagan for letting him join the party amidst the people and supporters in Narsaraopet who had been with his family for more than 20 years.
