Hyderabad: Following allegations of irregularities in Group-2 examinations, the High Court of Hyderabad on Monday issued a three-week stay on the ongoing recruitment process and certificate verification of candidates.

Notices went sent to the Telangana Public Service Commission (TPSC) asking it to file a counter. The Court was dealing with a PIL filed by a person alleging that the TSPSC violated rules while conducting Group-2 written examination.

It may be recalled that the newly-formed Telangana government had issued a Group-2 notification stating that the government would recruit 1,032 posts. As many as 5.65 lakh candidates had appeared for the written examination that was conducted in November last year.

The TSPSC, which had announced the results of the exam recently, issued call letters to more than 3,000 candidates to appear for the final phase of interview.

The petitioner alleged that the there were severe irregularities taken place while correcting the exam papers. It was also alleged that the officials used whitener to make re-corrections on the papers to pass the candidate for next round of the interview.

Following the petition, the High Court directed the baord to suspend the certificate verification for now and sought to file an affidavit countering the PIL.
