Allagadda MLA Stopped In Her Tracks

Vijayawada: It was a bitter experience for Allagadda MLA Bhuma Akhilapriya in Vijayawada on Thursday.

The young MLA was on her way to the state secretariat when the convoy of YSRCP president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy arrived from the opposite direction. Immediately, scores of farmers and YS Jagan followers moved into the convoy route. Consequently, traffic snarls were witnessed which caught vehicle users including the MLA unprepared. Unable to pass through thousands of farmers, the Allagadda MLA was forced to retreat from her plans to visit the secretariat.

It may be recalled that the YSRCP president is on a tour of Vijayawada and the new capital region to express solidarity with farmers and villagers. The farmers have been given compensation by the state government for their lands which is way below the market price. Protesting against this unfair compensation and unjust land pooling adopted by the TDP-led government, YS Jagan is currently on a tour of the capital city region and is directly interacting with the villagers.
