Alia Bhatt Gets Death Threat, Miscreant Demands Rs50 Lakh

Mumbai: Bollywood filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt received an extortion call on February 26 who demanded Rs 50 lakh. The person also threatened to kill Mahesh Bhatt's wife Soni Razdan and daughter Alia Bhatt if he failed to deposit the amount in a Lucknow-based bank branch.
At first he ignored the call, but after receiving a message in Whatsapp, he approached the police in Juhu, Mumbai and lodged a complaint against him. The message read as," if you failed to do so, i will fire several rounds of bullets in your daughter Alia Bhatt and wife Soni." The person claimed to be a gang leader.
The police registered a case under section 387 of IPC and handed it over to the Anti Extortion Cell (AEC) for further investigation.
