Actor Subbaraju Grilled For Over 12 Hours In Drugs Case

Hyderabad: Actor Subbaraju was grilled for over 8 hours by officials of the Excise department, here on Friday, in the infamous drugs case that shook the Telugu film industry.

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Telangana State Excise and Prohibtion Department that is probing the case continued its questioning of key persons for the third day on Friday. The Excise officials showed the evidence they had with them and is said to have questioned his links with the prime accused Calvin. Though it was widely reported that the questioning ended by late afternoon, Excise director Akun Sabharwal said that the questioning continued till late evening.

He also stated that on Saturday, a meeting has been called with owners of over 70 pubs and bars in the jurisdiction of GHMC. This follows revealation by some of the accused in the department's custody that drugs are being sold in 16 popular pubs in the city. Other actors to be questioned by the Excise department include Tarun (July 22) and Mumaith Khan (July 27). Later, blood samples of Subbaraju were collected by the officials.

It may be recalled that director Puri Jagannath and cinamatographer Shyam K Naidu have already been questioned in the case.
