Actor Sivaji joins BJP

Telugu film actor Sivaji on Thursday joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in Hyderabad.

He  joined the BJP in the presence of party senior leader Venkaiah Naidu at the party State office in Hyderabad.

After formally becoming a member of the BJP, Sivaji said “The country is more important than individuals. Modi is needed for the country at this point of time. BJP is free from family rule and there are no hereditary politics on the party. I came from an ordinary family. I am in this position only because of  Telugu people.”

However, he clarified that he won’t quit acting in movies. He also declared that he was not expecting any post in the party. He reminded that he participated in relief measures during floods in the past. 

Speaking on the occasion, Venkaiah Naidu said that Sivaji is one person who has social awareness. He said that the actor had responded well at the time of Palem bus tragedy.
