Acid attack on woman in Khammam

In a shocking incident, a man attacked a women with acid as the latter was shopping for household goods near a bus stop in Khammam, police said.

Family dispute is said to be the reason behind the gruesome attack. 
According to reports, the accused, Srinivas, who is said to be in his twenties, threw acid on the woman and left her screaming in pain. Police suspect that the miscreant is a resident of Srinagar colony. The victim, a married woman, was rushed to a nearby hospital. She received injuries on her neck and hands due to the acid attack.
Police have registered the case and are trying to nab the culprit.
