There after he started dating Dipannita Sharma for almost 10 months, but even this too didn't work out. Moving on, he fell for Aish in Umrao Jaan, Dhoom 2 and Guru. Many say that cupid struck between them during Kajra Re song in Bunty Aur Babli and it was during Mani Ratnam's Guru both developed feelings for one another. During the promotions of Guru, Abhishek proposed Aish, who readily accepted it. The two then got engaged on January 14, 2007 and the same year got married on April 20. Their marriage was a Bollywood sensation and made it the headlines since before marrying Abhi, she got married to a tree as she was "manglik". Then a girl named Jhanvi Kapoor attempted suicide slitting her wrist claiming Abhishek cheated her, but it was termed as a publicity stunt later.
