Abducted Telangana-Based Doctor Srikanth Goud Finally Rescued From Kidnappers, 2 Arrested

Srikanth Goud, a native of Gadwal town in Jogulamba Gadwal district of Telangana, was kidnapped by an unidentified Ola Cab driver at Laxmi Nagar on July 6 in the national capital demanding a ransom of Rs 2 crore. 

New Delhi: Telangana-based doctor Dr. Akkala Srikanth Goud, who was kidnapped by an Ola Cab driver a fortnight ago, was finally rescued by the police on Wednesday evening at Meerut city in Uttar Pradesh.

Srikanth Goud, a native of Gadwal town in Jogulamba Gadwal district of Telangana, was kidnapped by an unidentified Ola Cab driver at Laxmi Nagar on July 6 in the national capital demanding a ransom of Rs 2 crore. Since then, his family back home has been frantically calling the Delhi police for help.

The Delhi, who had formed special teams to rescue the victim, visited Gaziabad, East Delhi, Meerut in Uttar Pradesh for the kidnappers. The police traced the gang in Meerut and managed to rescue the victim safely. It is learnt that exchange of fire occurred while the police were in action to rescue Srikanth. The police arrested two persons involved in the kidnap.

During the investigation, it is learnt that the kingpin of the gang had secured a job in Ola Cabs by providing fake documents.

Srikanth, a medical PG student, had been working with the Preet Vihar Metro Hospital in Delhi for quite sometime.
