Today we will share a few nuggets on the famous thinking Khan of Bollywood who got married to his colleague. By now, you know who I am talking about. Yes-Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao.

The duo first met on the sets of Ashutosh Gowariker's Lagaan, where Kiran was an assistant director. Though they knew each other it was more of a professional relationship Kiran, who was still finding a foothold in the industry chose to stay away from Aamir assuming him to be carrying a typical starry attitude. However, the couple met again for the shoot of a commercial ad which was again shot by Ashutosh. It was at this time that cupid struck and their friendship blossomed into love.

After dating for an year they got married in 2004. “We connected on the sets of Lagaan and again on an ad commercial that he was doing with Ashutosh Gowariker that I was assisting on. We hung out a lot together and became 2 am friends. We started seeing each other in 2004…. We like each other’s company and our friendship is still the basis of our relationship. I moved in with him and neither of us was hung up on marriage. After a year of living together, we decided to get married for two reasons," Kiran told a daily.

Aamir turned a vegan under the influence of Kiran, who herself is a vegetarian. The couple has a son named Azad. Prior to marrying Kiran, Aamir was married to Reena Dutta with whom he shared 16 years of love which ended in 2002.
