A rousing welcome greets Vijayamma in Rajahmundry

YSR Congress honorary president, Y. S. Vijayamma was in Rajahmundry on Monday to unveil the statue of ex-minister Jakkampudi Rama-mohan Rao. The statue has been installed near Kambhala tank.

Addressing the gathering, Vijayamma said, “Jagan would get justice in the Supreme Court. He will come out from the jail soon and solve the problems being faced by people in the state.”
She said that her husband, the late chief minister Rajasekhara reddy had a special liking for East Godavari as people in the district were very affectionate towards him.
She also remembered the late minister Jakkampudi Ramamohana Rao who supported Rajasekhara reddy when he fell sick during his padayatra. Jakkampudi had always walked along with YS Rajasekhara Reddy in his political career.
Vijayamma received a grand welcome in Rajahmundry. Although it was pouring while she was talking, the large crowd were in no hurry to escape the rain as they were seen patiently lending their ears to what she was saying. The crowd that was gathered in large numbers to welcome Vijayamma, cheered throughout her speech.
