A Day Before Gurmeet Ram Rahim Was Convicted, Rs 5 Crore Given To Incite Violence

Panchkula: A day before Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim was convicted for rapes, Rs 5 crore was given to Dera Baba’s followers to fuel violence in the city and elsewhere in the state. This was revealed by the special investigation team on Thursday.

Dera Panchkula branch head Chamkaur Singh was the man, who was given the task to spend the money. A native of Mohali district, Chamkaur Singh has gone missing along with his family after a sedition case was registered against him following the direction of the High Court on August 28.

Dera also sent money to various places in Punjab where violence had erupted after Gurmeet's conviction. It is also learnt that the Dera followers were told that they would compensated in case of loss of life during the violence.
