8434 Teacher Posts To Be Filled In Telangana

Hyderabad: Education minister Kadiyam Srihari today announced in the Legislative Assembly that the 8434 residential schools' teachers posts, which have been vacant, will be filled very soon. Answering to a question on residential schools in the state assembly, the minister said the Gurukul schools, which were neglected in the united state, would be revamped and will be upgraded by Telangana government.

Srihari mentioned that the government had allocated Rs 2835 crores for residential schools in the state and pointed out that it was spending Rs one lakh per student on their education. He also said that there was a proposal to hike the salaries of the employees of the residential schools.

The Education minister pointed out that after Telangana state formation, 577 new Gurukul schools have been established. Overall in 877 Gurukul schools around 2.7 lakh students we receiving education, he said. Srihari mentioned that 27 lakh students were receiving education from government schools across the state.

The Deputy chief minister asserted that 33 residential schools would be soon upgraded into junior colleges and added that the government was mooting at bringing SC,ST, BC and minority category residential schools under one umbrella.
