5 Killed As Lorry Rams into Auto In Chittoor

Chittoor: Five people were killed in a road accident after a lorry rammed into the auto-rickshaw, in which they were travelling. The incident occurred on Monday at 10th Mile Cross near BN Kandriga, when the victims were returning from Sri Kalahasti.

All the four passengers along with the driver died on the spot. Passersby alerted the police and the victims were taken to a hospital for post-mortem.

The deceased were identified as Venkata Ramana (48), the auto driver; Ramarao (50), Kumari (47), Ananth (16) and Bindu (18).

The police registered a case and launched a hunt to nab the lorry driver, who went absconding after the incident.
