3000 police to man Bonalu finale

Hyderabad: The police are making every security arrangement to ensure that the finale of Bonalu fete passes off peacefully. Hyderabad city’s Commissioner of Police Mahendar Reddy on Wednesday said that as many as 3000 police personnel would be deployed during the closing fete of Bonalu.

The Bonalu would be held on July 24 and 25 at Secunderabad and on July 31 and August 1 at Lal Darwaza in the Old City.

Reddy said there would be tight surveillance and SHE teams and anti-chain snatching teams would be deployed to ensure that there are no untoward incidents during the event.

The top cop said 100 additional CCTV cameras have been installed for the video surveillance of the processions of Lashkar Bonalu in the city and one SI would lead the teams at each temple.
