Aamir Khan aka Mohammed Aamir Hussian Khan is celebrating his 53rd birthday today. One of the rockstars of Bollywood, Aamir is known for his off-beat approach to film-making and his fastidiousness for the 'right' role done to perfection. This has earned him the sobriquet, Mr. Perfectionist. Aamir Khan has a large, world-wide following.

The actor made his acting debut as a child artiste in the film Yaadon Ki Baarat in 1973. He turned a hero with the movie Holi in 1984. His films like Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, Dil, Raja Hindustani and Lagaan have set him firmly on the path of success. Aamir established himself as a leading star in the industry. The movie Lagaan, which is the first film in his banner Aamir Khan Productions, has been nominated for Oscars for Best Foreign Language Film.

Aamir was born to the famous film producer Tahir Hussain and Zeenat Hussain and has appeared in many of the Hindi films at a very young age.
