3 Nigerians And Kolkata Native Held For Online Lottery Fraud

Hyderabad: Three Nigerians and a native of West Bengal were arrested by the city police on Monday for defrauding people with Samsung lottery.

The accused identified as Gauza Artistide, Omeke Eric Tochukwum and Okwereaku Tochukwu from Nigeria and Anand Nagesia from West Bengal contacted the victim Ashish Patel from Hyderabad. One of the accused said that he was an accounts officer at RBI and told Patel that he won a lottery of Rs4.5 crore from Samsung. The accused further told to transfer Rs2.6 lakh to claim the lottery.

Believing them, Patel transferred the amount to their account and the accused told Patel to meet him in Delhi. On learning that he was being cheated, Ashish along with the police went to Delhi to meet the accused.

The police arrested them and seized their passports. They also recovered mobiles phones, laptops from them.
