3-hr power cuts to haunt city again

Central Discom has increased power cuts in both domestic as well as commercial sectors that fall under GHMC. Beginning today, there would be three hours of power cuts every day, one and half hour in the morning and as much time in the evening too.

Although officially, power cuts are just for one hour, twice a day, to overcome power shortage, there are many unscheduled cuts throughout the day.Industries on 11/33 KV feeders in city get relief as they are allowed to draw power as per the previous schedule from today. Many industrial units are losing faith in the state government's ability to fix things and are considering migrating to other states.

The industries were incurring a loss of around Rs. 1,000 crores a day with just 8 hours of power before the blackout hit them. However, now with the present decision allowing industries to draw power as per the earlier schedule, they can breathe a sigh of relief.
