The future of over 200 students of Vasavi College in Vanasthalipuram was jeopardised when the Board of Intermediate did not issue hall tickets to them to take the intermediate examinations. The students and parents of the college staged a dharna and gheraoed Telangana Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy demanding hall tickets.

On Wednesday, college principal Srinivas dropped a bombshell when he claimed that the Board of Intermediate (BIE) did not issue hall tickets as he did not pay bribe. He said the officials of the BIE were responsible for this and demanded action against them.

He said the college management had applied for permission in June last year and was given permission after an inspection. They demanded a bribe of Rs 7 lakh to give affiliation. He said he gave Rs 2 lakh, but the officials demanded five lakh more. Finally a login was given in February, but the ruined the careers of the students by not issuing hall tickets.
