2 TDP MLAs booked in land grabbing case

On one side, the party president  is making speeches against corruption and illegal activities, on the other his party MLAs are showing the way to carry out illegal activities.

On Saturday, a cheating case was registered against Telugu Desam Party MLA, Suman Rathod following a complaint from a doctor.

Accusing the TDP MLA of creating forged documents, the doctor approached the police station saying that Rathod had taken Rs 40 lakhs advance from the buyer for his (doctor's) land.

The police has booked a case of land grabbing and cheating against Rathod. It is said that Rathod is absconding from the time the case was registered and police are out to arrest the culprit.

A day after, on Monday, another TDP MLA Beeda Mastan Rao was also charged with land grabbing. To lure people from his constituency, the MLA tried to give away lands for free to them. Interestingly, the land belongs to a farmer and not him!

The farmer, Madava Reddy alleged that the TDP MLA forcibly occupied his land at Kavali in Nellore and tried to get that registered in others' name.

The MLA's close aides also cut huge trees in the land and caused a damage to the tune of Rs 10 lakhs.

The angry farmer approached the MRO and the police. The farmer also alleged that the police did not bother or express interest as an MLA was involved in the issue. However, they soon mended their ways and began probe into the issue after the media intervened.
