Hyderabad: Two more girls of Poornima Sai's age group went missing in the neighboring Bachupally police limits on Monday. The parents of Durgadevi and Yamini - both 15-year-olds - filed a missing complaint as the girls did not return home after going to school on the first day of reopening of the schools.

The parents of the Class X student Poornima Sai who had gone missing last week are a worried lot with the police achieving no progress in finding the whereabouts of the girl so far.

Poornima had deactivated her Facebook and Instagram accounts before she went missing. She was using her mother’s smart phone and had locked it with a pattern code. When the cops broke the code and accessed her WhattsApp, it was found that she had deleted the history.

The city police have sent out 14 teams to various parts of the state to trace the missing girl. It is suspected that the girl could have gone to either Vizag, Yanam or Shirdi.

A few days before the incident, the family had travelled to Vizag and Yanam for a holiday and Poornima was so enthralled with the places that she had expressed her desire to come back and live there. The family also visited Shirdi sometime back as they are devout followers of Sai Baba.

Poornima had left home for Bhashyam School in Nizampet on June 7 and did not return home. The parents filed a missing complaint at the Bachupally police station the same evening.

Besides examining all the angles that could be related to the case, the police are checking her activity on social media. All those who knew Poornima at home and school are well aware of her Facebook and Instagram accounts as she was very active on both.

However, before she went missing, Poornima had deactivated her Facebook and Instagram accounts. She was using her mother’s smart phone and had locked it with a pattern code. When the cops broke the code and accessed her WhattsApp, it was found that she had deleted the history.

The police can achieve a breakthrough only if the backup of her recent communication either on WhatsApp or other social networks becomes available. "We are in the process of getting a backup of recent WhatsApp conversations and browsing history on the mobile. Efforts are on to access her social media accounts as well. This may provide some leads," said Kukatpally ACP N Bhujanga Rao.

Meanwhile, Poornima's father requested the IT Minister KT Ramarao to help in tracing his daughter. A poster was also put out with the missing girl's picture and details appealing people to call the police if she was found.
