19-Year-Old Girl Has A Miraculous Escape After Train Runs Over Her

Mumbai: A 19-year-old had a providential escape when she walked into the path of a speeding goods train at the busy Kurla railway station and the train ran over her. To the surprise of hundreds of passengers, the victim sneaked out of the tracks with just a bruise.

The moment she realised that a train was coming, she tried to run to safety before she was knocked down. The train passed a few metres before clutching on to the brakes. The commuters, who had presumed her to be dead, were shocked to see the girl being brought to safety without any serious injuries. She was later taken to Rajawadi Hospital treatment.

According to the police, the woman is identified as Pratiksha Natekar, a resident of Bhandup in Mumbai. The incident occurred when she came to meet her friend at Kurla. She was speaking to her friend over phone and she kept walking towards platform No7. As she was busy on phone, she did not notice the train coming from from the opposite direction. Noticing this, the goods train loco pilot brought the train to halt immediately.

The entire incident was captured by a CCTV camera installed at the platform. The video is now going viral on social media.
