131 Rowdy sheets opened to curb crime in city

Hyderabad: To curb the rising crime rate, South Zone police have opened 131 rowdy-sheets against the habitual criminals in city. The rowdy sheets have been opened on those who are active in murders, illegal financing and harassing women.

Of the total 131, one against city dossier criminal, 105 habitual offenders and 25 suspect sheets on property offenders. 

V Satyanarayana, South Zone DCP said updating history sheets is very vital as it helps the police to nab the offenders fast. The South Zone police have closed the rowdy sheets of the persons who are no more active, and simultaneously fresh rowdy sheets have been opened who have joined the crime.

“One of the new rowdy-sheeters Syed Dasthagir (25) a paedophile, who killed a 12-year-old girl after raping her in August 2015,” he said.

DCP said that with initiatives like cordon search, use of high-end technology, and community policing programmes the crime rate has reasonably come down, adding that no major crime happened in the last two years.
