100 More Rs5-Meal Centers In Hyderabad
Hyderabad: The GHMC (Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation) will soon launch 100 more centers of Rs 5-a-meal scheme in order to alleviate the crisis of demonetization.
The decision was taken at a cabinet meeting on Monday and GHMC Mayor B. Rammohan said that more centres would be implemented to overcome the impact of demonetization, adding that, new centers will be started in a phase wise manner after conducting a survey.

At present GHMC runs 50 such centers catering meals to 15,000 people daily in the city. Meanwhile, to start and maintain the 100 centres, the civic body requires Rs 20 crore.
The Mayor also observed that in order to go cashless large number of credit or debit card swiping machines are required in the city for utilities payments and banking needs as well.
