1-Year-Old Hyderabd Boy Suffers From Rare Disorder, Parents Seek Help To Raise Rs 25 Lakh

Hyderabad: Parents of one-and-half-year-old child, who is suffering from a rare liver disorder, are appealing people to contribute through crowd funding platform to save their sons’ life. The parents of Shrijay needs Rs 25 lakh and so far have raised Rs 11.8 lakh through online platform - Impact Guru.

The infant is suffering from Glycogen Storage disease, which is preventing his growth. Shirjay has been admitted to hospital over 8 times in last 13 months and is currently in ICU due to acute metabolic acidosis and the connected ailments.

A panel of expert doctors at a private hospital here concluded that liver transplantation is the last resort to save Shrijay's life and this cannot be delayed due to his condition.

"Tests before surgery, the cost of transplantation and medicines after surgery are estimated to cost over Rs 25 lakh. Even after that child has to be on immunosuppressants lifelong which are again costly," said Shirjay's father B. Jagan Mohan Rao.
