1 Dead, 3 Injured After Classmate Opens Fire At School In US
Rockford: A student was killed and three others were injured after a gunman opened fire at a high school in Washington on Wednesday.
The gunman, who is believed to be a student of the same Freeman High School in Rockford opened fire outside the biology classroom killing a male student on the spot and injured three female students. The injured were shifted to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center and Children's Hospital.
According to the police, the accused brought two guns to the school and started firing at their classmates. The victim Sam Strahan, who tried to stop the accused, was killed accidentally when a bullet got jammed into him.
On learning the shooting at the school, parents rushed to the school. One of the students at the school took a picture of her classmates apparently taking cover on the floor of their classroom and posted on Twitter. The girl, named Christina, said: “At Freeman elementary currently. I am a junior, evacuated from the high school. At least 4 shots.”
The police took one suspect into custody.
